Mini Rosary Tutorial
A mini rosary makes a great accessory for your saint doll! (You can find all the patterns for the above saints in my pattern library.)
In addition to the directions below, you can also find them as a PDF here.
If you’re on Instagram, you can find a quick video tutorial here.
Pin this tutorial for later below.
Materials:
Beading thread: 0.15 mm (0.006 in) diameter, thermally bonded or other no-fray variety
11/0 Seed Beads: 53 in dominant color (Color A) and 6 in secondary color (Color B)
Mini cross charm
Scissors
Optional: embroidery needle (to hide end tails by weaving them through beads)
Step 1:
Unravel some of your thread and place the following beads on in this sequence:
(10 Color A beads, 1 Color B bead) x 5
3 Color A beads
1 Color B bead
Lastly, place the cross charm on your thread.
Step 2:
Loop your thread back through the Color B bead, the next 3 Color A beads, and then the next Color B bead.
Step 3:
Unravel the thread a little bit further so that both ends have several inches without beads and cut the thread off of the spool. Carefully double knot both ends of the thread, bringing the beaded sections of the thread close together.
Step 4:
Lastly, loop some of each end back through some of the beads and trim the ends.
And that’s it! Your rosary is now ready to sew or glue onto your saint doll!
